Nutrition Month 2018: Ugaliing magtanim, sapat na nutrisyon aanihin

"Ugaliing Magtanim, sapat na nutrisyon aanihin". Words that are easy to vocalize but hard to express in action. In today's generation, simple works like farming is now hard for us to do because of too much influence of new technologies to our society.
As we all know, the lifestyle of the past generations are more simple and they are all living in a very peaceful way unlike today's generation. Some people nowadays are only depending the foods they eat from fast food chains, foods that are mixed with some chemical artificials. They prefer this kinds of food because they think it's delicious but they don't know the bad effect of eating too much foods like this. Can't you notice the fact that people that are in the province are more healthier than those people living in the city? Pollution rarely happens at provinces, yes this is one of the reasons why they are healthy, but there is also other reason why they are healthy, it is because the food they eat is fresh and healthy and it has no chemicals mixed on it. If we do planting of vegetables and fruits by ourselves, we can assure that the food that we are going to eat won't cause bad effect on our body instead it will give us a lot of nutrients.
The things that we are doing today is not only for the present days but it is also for our better future. This is now the right time to give proper attention to our health so that we can achieve a proper nutrition.

PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE
Malacanang Palace Compound
J.P. Laurel Street San Miguel
Manila
Philippines

Dear Mr. President:

A pleasant morning to you sir. It's a great privilege for me to send you letter. I also want to congratulate you for leading our country in a very good way.
I am composing this letter to let you know my concerns in the increasing rate of poverty in our country. It has been reported that the main cause of crime in the Philippines is the growing rate of poverty causing a low distribution of jobs. This is also the main reason why some Filipinos choose to work abroad because of low salary income in the Philippines. I feel sad because they are going work away from home.
May I request your help to provide the needs of the people who has low state in life. Provide more work so that our fellow Filipinos won't go outside of the country for work. And help those students who cannot provide their study financially.

I hope for your kind consideration on this matter.

Sincerely Yours,
Aubrey Margaret Quemi

The Importance of Philippine Independence Day

Is it really important for us Filipinos to celebrate our independence day? We Filipinos are already familiar to American nations and Japanese nations because of the invasion happened on the 19th century.
On the month of May year 1898 we gained our freedom but proclaimed it on the 12th day of June  celebrated at the Province of Cavite. We are invaded before by the atrocious Spaniards, next are the barbaric Japanese soldiers, and the last one are the military soldiers of America. We've become slaves for about 333 years, ruled by heartless persons. But many of us Filipinos fought the foreign invaders just to achieved our freedom, a lot of them sacrificed their lives to defend our beloved country but it's good to know that their sacrifices have been paid off.
All I can say is we really need to celebrate our Independence day because this day serves as our memory that even we've been through a lot of consequences, even though we suffered pain from the hands of invaders, we still stand strong and defeat them. Let us also show our love and honor for all of the countrymen who died.
